AT&T Signature Program Offers Caregivers Discounted Rates on Cell Phone Services

ATT-Your-World.jpg

With cell phones being the ubiquitous device in our lives, our caregiving community has found a telecommunications partner in AT&T’s Signature Program.

Usually, corporate organizations are able to obtain discounts not commonly available to the average consumer.  We are happy to announce however, that the Brighton Support Foundation has arranged a program that allows caregivers, friends and family members to take advantage of an 8% discount on the monthly bill. The program also extends further discounts to accessories that you may need for your device.

To take advantage of this benefit, all you need to do is go to any AT&T store and provide the IRU number to a store representative to start saving now. The IRU# is: 7948362.

Employees of Brighton Supported Living, friends, family and anyone registered with the Brighton Support Foundation can immediately take advantage of this program when they sign-up with AT&T. Existing AT&T subscribers can also modify their account and switch to the program as appropriate. For your convenience, you can visit the AT&T store at 4315 NE Thurston Way, Suite 100, near the Vancouver Mall or contact them at 360 718 2807.

Thank you for being part of our journey . . .

As we embrace the challenges for the new year, I wanted to publish a heartfelt thank you for those who did not receive my mailing last month:

We are encouraged by your engagement to the caregiving community and look forward on how we can pool resources together so that we can accomplish great things.

Being in the early stages of our organization’s efforts to address so many unfulfilled needs for caregivers in the region, we are hopeful you can help us build a platform that will keep caregivers doing what they love.

One need which the Brighton Support Foundation is addressing has to do with the professional education component of being a caregiver. Under this effort, the Brighton Leadership Institute was created to help develop future leaders with leadership and management training.

Secondly, through our community partners and sponsors, we have also been able to form key relationships where participating organizations offer valuable product and service discounts that help ease the financial burden of being a caregiver. This benefit is extended to all registered members of the Brighton Support Foundation.

And thirdly, we know that life challenges can be an obstacle to being a caregiver whether it is a financial or emotional hardship. With the support resources we are putting together, we are confident that we can harness the power of community in helping sustain caregivers in the profession, for many years to come.

The National Alliance for Caregiving has already identified that three years from now, 117 million Americans are expected to need caregiving assistance. So in 2020, there will only be 5 million paid caregivers in the country. Clearly this raises the question of who will be delivering care and how this will impact the delivery continuum.

Help us meet this huge opportunity of supporting caregivers by elevating the status of the profession. Through your generous support and involvement, we can change the story.

I am reminded of a recent trip by our founder to South Africa, where he shared with me an old African proverb that says, “if you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” Share our vision of supporting caregivers and include the Brighton Support Foundation in your conversation today and let’s accomplish great things together.

Thank you again for being part of our journey.

Fundraising Dinner Launches Brighton Support Foundation into Spotlight

Thanks to the many sponsors, donors, volunteers and guests, the Brighton Support Foundation was able to kick-off it’s first fundraising dinner held at the Red Cross Building in Fort Vancouver.

 IMG_9971.JPG

The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 7824 led by Richard Alvarez posted colors and teamed up with Matt Erickson’s men’s choir to deliver a beautiful interpretation of the national anthem that left an incredible impression to all that attended.

Ron Neiderkofler from Vancouver Laughter Yoga subsequently geared up the evening with an icebreaker that helped the audience settle into a stress relieving laughter session before guests were served a 3-course meal. During dinner, Norm Wolfe of Quantum Leaders challenged attendees to consider community leadership as a way of building momentum to what the foundation is trying to achieve. The foundation’s founder, Ross Kolditz further illustrated the reasons why the Brighton Support Foundation was created and how its mission can help sustain caregivers in doing what they love.

With the silent auction also ongoing throughout the evening, guests were able to bid on a good selection of items that helped contribute to the capital campaign.

Overall, it was well attended and encouraging for the foundation’s first debut in the community.
